Italy is a place that is known for its culture, food and beauty among many other things. While many of us dream of visiting Italy sometimes experiencing Italy in your own hometown can be just as rewarding. This year in Ottawa the Italian Festival Grand Finale is even bigger than ever! With more participants, more events and more fun. This opulent festival brings Italy to Preston Street in Ottawa and is sure to be the event of the season. Whether you are looking for fine dining, live music or even Ottawa's largest gathering of Ferraris you will not want to skip Little Italy this weekend. This blog post will break down the full lineup of events and point you in the right direction to enjoy la dolce vita in Ottawa.

Ottawa Ferrari Festival

If you ask a child to sit down and draw a car, what colour will the car be? The child will certainly colour it red. That is because of Ferrari. Enzo Ferrari founded the luxury racing car company in 1939. Now synonymous with opulence, meticulous craftsmanship and ridiculously fast cars for nearly a century these world-class vehicles will be on display in Ottawa on Preston Street. Dining on Preston Street

Ottawa Italian Fest takes place on Preston Street. Known across the city as the go-to destination for Italian food and fine dining the streets are lined with delicious options. While there are too many to name them all we will list a few but encourage all visitors to explore and find even more. The video below has some options from years past at Ottawa Italian Festival 2022.

Restaurants On Preston Street In Little Italy Ottawa

Giovanni's restaurant is an elegant Italian restaurant located in the heart of Little Italy Ottawa. For over 20 years Giovanni's has enjoyed serving its fine Italian Cuisine to Ottawa residents and visitors. They offer an extensive variety of traditional dishes and specialties which are unique to our restaurant. They state “our warm and inviting restaurant is perfect for a dinner or lunch for two or for large gatherings of up to 60 people. A private room is also available for up to 30 people.

When you come to Giovanni's, expect nothing but the best. Outstanding service, hospitality, ambiance and food. Giovanni's is also home to one of the most extensive wine cellars in Ottawa as well as a great selection of spirits.”

La Favorita

“In 1986, when Nick Shallal came to Ottawa after years in the Mediterranean, he introduced the concept of gourmet pizzas after he opened La Favorita as a small takeout restaurant on Preston Street. Nick pioneered the wood burning oven to make his designer seafood pizzas and calzones among the best in the Nation’s Capital. Word spread quickly: within a few months, rave reviews appeared in The Ottawa Citizen, The Toronto Star and even The New York Times, bringing so many customers that he had to expand to meet the demand for his delectable pizzas, calzones and salads. The great food, friendly atmosphere and mood created by La Favorita’s now famous host and chef, Nick Shallal, have kept everyone coming back”

Modern European style cuisine, Mati’s is well recognized throughout Ottawa for its service and unique dishes that will leave people talking about them. They seem to pride themselves in elegant servings and dish presentation. The seafood tower for two will redefine your expectations for fine dining when it comes to seafood. Arguably Ottawa's best meal.

Dreamland Cafe

The pasta you have been dreaming of. Since 2017, sisters, Coco and Marlo, have owned and operated their fresh pasta restaurant. This restaurant evolves each year as they hone their craft to deliver better pasta with each new outing. The fun bright atmosphere of this dreamy pasta spot makes it stand out from the rest on the street as a vibrant fixture of the community.

The Prescott

An Ottawa tradition since 1934. Famous for our meatball sandwiches, pasta dishes and unique, original square pizzas.

The Prescott shares a reputation with The Lafayette House in the Byward Market as the oldest licensed drinking establishment in Ottawa. Originally called The Preston Hotel (it stopped renting rooms in 1978), the establishment was re-baptized The Prescott in 1941, it is held, in recognition of its status as the last watering hole between Ottawa and the town of Prescott.

La Roma

Located in Ottawa's Little Italy, they're an Italian, from scratch kitchen, focusing on contemporary Italian cuisine that is rooted in tradition. With a large dining room on the main floor, and three semi-private dining rooms upstairs, they have the space for all your party needs. In the summer, they have a covered rooftop patio available for small private functions, as well as three ground level patios. They are proud to work with local farmers and producers wherever possible.  Tuesdays for half price wine (on select bottles).

Del Piacere

A traditional Italian restaurant located on Preston street, Ottawa. You can taste true Italian cuisine, the chef/ owner is from Lucca, Tuscany.  An authentic touch on Italian dishes, what more could you ask for in Little Italy?
