How is your buying experience going?
My name is Karen from the Hamre Real Estate Team at RE/MAX Affiliates in Ottawa.
I just want to tell you a little story about my most recent client Francis.
Francis called me up and we started looking for homes about 3 weeks ago. He thought he wanted to be in the west end so that's where we started our search. I got to know him and nothing was really resonating in the west-end.
So I suggested, let's hit the east-end so that's what we did and again nothing was really resonating. We went to this one home and he thought he wanted to put an offer on it. I asked him if he was sure and he was sure so that is exactly what we did.
I was able to negotiate a bit on this home but it wasn't feeling right and Francis wasn't getting a good vibe and neither was I. I talked to him and suggested let's walk away from this, take a step back.
I didn't want him to settle, that is the last thing I wanted him to do. I wanted him to be excited about his home. So that's what we did and I promised him that I would find him the perfect home.
The next day, sure enough, one came up, we went in and he loved it. He loved it and he wanted this home and I knew I had to get him this home. We were competing but I was in constant communication with the listing agent who was amazing and we were successful. Francis got the home that he wanted.
We just had to take a step back.
The moral of the story is sometimes you have to take a step back and exercise a little bit more patience than you have already been doing. Everything will fall into place. The last thing we want is for you to move into a home that you are not excited about.
