 Does empathy play a factor in the negotiations? This home just sold in the inner Greenbelt of Ottawa and empathy certainly played a factor. Now price was important. The closing date was important and everything else that goes along with an offer.

My name is Greg Hamre from RE/MAX Affiliates in Ottawa and the Hamre Real Estate Team. We're just putting up the SOLD sign. We're on Ancona it's a great street, deep in the neighbourhood. It's a street where a lot of original owners still live here from the early 1970s. This was a special home. It was the original owners and they wanted, really wanted another family to come in and carry on the traditions of the home. The celebrations that existed in the home for them, we get a lot of communication back and forth. The buyer's agent was excellent. She was a RE/MAX agent as well. And her communication skills were fantastic. ☎️Communication, when you're doing an offer, is very important and empathy got expressed. The buyer wanted to know, you know, some good things about the home, but the seller really wanted to know the empathy of the buyer who was coming in. Would they carry on those?

❤️And again, I would say that it was probably the top of their list when they came to look at offers and price again, price was still important and everything else that goes with an offer, but empathy can really affect a deal.  And these sellers are super excited that another family's moving in here. And I understand the buyers are really excited as well. I've talked to a few neighbours on the street, say there's a young family moving back into the neighbourhood here. As the neighbourhood slowly slightly starts to shift.

It's still a lot of original owners here. People love this street and love the community of Briargreen in the pan, right on the inner Greenbelt of Ottawa. Really happy for everybody involved here, especially my sellers. They're thrilled and I'm really glad that there's a good vibe with new buyers coming in.
